Puja: Anupamaa’s Rupali Ganguly shares her excitement about her son Rudransh doing Ganesh Chaturthi’s puja for the first time, says “It was very sweet and heartwarming to see him follow the rituals”
Rupali wished her fans, “Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to everyone, may you all receive the same happiness, positivity, love and health with him at home and everything that everyone wants.”
Talking about the preparations for Ganesh Chaturthi, Rupali shared, “Preparations are the same, honestly, when Anupamaa wasn’t there in my life I used to do a lot of preparations for Ganesh Chaturthi.
I would go to Dadar market at night to buy flowers, kanthi and everything as I have grown up in Marathi culture and it has been 34 years since we have been welcoming Bappa at home. We still have the sameBhatt ji who comes for the puja. Now that the building has become old Bhattji’s daughter-in-law comes and he directs on the video call. Things have changed and people have evolved with time.”
Rupali further shares her childhood memories, “A lot has changed in these 34 years of welcoming Bappa home. Earlier, my father used to get the murti and my brother and I would dance and sing ‘Ganpati bappa morya’. Later, my father started falling ill and my brother used to get the murti and then he shifted to Canada, then I started bringing Bappa home and now we are back again though Pappa is no more we are continuing this ritual.”
She further shared her excitement on her son Rudransh following the rituals for the first time, “This was the first time my son did the Ganpati Puja. He didn’t know a lot of things but he was diligently trying. He was like, ‘Mamma it’s my first time’, I went like, “Rudransh hurry up, do things quickly” He said, “Mamma sorry I am slow”. It was very sweet and heartwarming to see him follow the rituals, my brother was also there. How things change with time is beautiful.”
Talking about celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with Anupamaa’s team, Rupali said, “This is the fourth year with Anupamaa as we have welcomed Bappa. So both my homes have Bappa. I would call all the people who made me Anupamaa and showered so much love has pushed me to always do my best with the show. There are tracks in the show that people may or may not love but still stay constantly with Anupamaa, thank you so much for all the love. I shall forever be grateful for it.”
