HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAREENA KAPOOR KHAN: It is our favourite Poo’s birthday. The quintessential Bollywood heroine Kareena Kapoor Khan has turned 42 and fans are pouring in love and best wishes for the actress. Kareena Kapoor Khan who needs no special introduction continues to rule the hearts of fans. Despite hailing from a film background, she left no stone unturned to carve her own niche in the industry.
Debut With Refugee
Her journey in the film world commenced with JP Dutta’s critically acclaimed film, Refugee, where she bagged numerous accolades for her impressive debut. This made it clear that Bebo, as she’s affectionately known by her fans, was here to stay. Following Refugee, Kareena Kapoor appeared in a string of films like Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Ajnabee, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Jab We Met, and the list goes on.
Embraced Unconventional Roles
While she added glamour to these films, she also embraced unconventional roles in her career. One notable instance was her portrayal of a prostitute in Sudhir Mishra’s 2004 film Chameli. She further ventured into unglamorous roles, such as her performance in Vishal Bhardwaj’s adaptation of Othello, Omkara, and her role as an escort with a dark secret in Talaash.
23 Years In Hindi Cinema
With a career spanning over 23 years in Hindi Cinema, Kareena Kapoor has not only established a significant place for herself in the film industry but has also become an inspiration for budding actors. Despite facing stiff competition in the industry, Kareena Kapoor today is proud of where she is. In an old interview with Harper’s Bazaar India, Kareena Kapoor said, “I always look back and smile, because I am proud of my journey. I don’t have time for regrets.”
Married Saif Ali Khan in 2012
In 2012, Kareena Kapoor married Saif Ali Khan, and since then, their bond has only grown stronger. In the same interview, Kareena emphasised the importance of balancing work and family life.
She expressed her desire to prioritise family moments over awards shows, saying, “I don’t feel like leaving my kids alone or because I don’t want to be seen at some awards show. I want to be able to choose—because I’d rather sit at home with my husband and watch a show or have a glass of wine. That’s one of the biggest changes I have gone through, personally. It is up to me to strike a work-life balance.”
While Kareena Kapoor’s presence on the big screen has always been commanding, she is all set to make her mark in the world of OTT platforms, expanding her reach to a broader audience. She will appear in Jaane Jaan, an adaptation of author Keigo Hagashino’s bestselling novel The Devotion Suspect X.
Coming to her Hollywood plans, Kareena Kapoor once told Free Press Journal, “There are no temptations as I am very busy doing stuff here. Also, I am a mother of two, therefore, I have to give them time. They are too young now.”
While Kareena Kapoor has so far entertained the audience, we can’t wait for her future projects.
News18 team wishes her a Happy Birthday.
