HYDERABAD: KL Damodar Prasad has been elected president of Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC). Prasad was elected in a keenly fought battle for the president’s post, elections for which were held on February 19.
He triumphed over ‘Gemini’ Kiran who secured 315 votes. Prasad, who was supported by the Active Film Producers Guild led by Dil Raju, secured 339 votes. K Ashok Kumar and Y Supriya were elected vice-presidents of TFPC unopposed. Producers T Prasanna Kumar and YVS Chowdhary got elected as secretaries and Natti Kumar and Bharath Chowdhary were elected as joint secretaries. T Rama Satyanarayana got elected as treasurer.
Damodar said AP and Telangana governments were creating a favourable atmosphere for film shootings and also looking into issues that were being brought to their notice by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce.
Dil Raju secured the highest number of votes and got elected to the executive committee. The others members who got elected include DVV Danayya, Poosala Kishore, PV Ravi Kishore, Ravi Shankar, Abhishek Agarwal, Panthani Ramakrishna Goud, Srinivas Rao Vajja, Kesara Rao Palli, Y Surendar Reddy, NB Venugopal, N Padmini, Gopinath Achanta and Tagore Madhu.
