5 held for supplying cheat-sheets at Cachar district exam centre in Assam | Guwahati News


SILCHAR: Five people, including friends and relatives of candidates appearing in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC) in Assam, were arrested by the police for supplying cheat-sheets in an examination centre in Cachar.
However, the accused have been granted bail after they were produced before a local court on Saturday, an official of Katigorah police station said.
The official further stated that friends and relatives of many candidates were found throwing cheat-sheets inside the examination centre at JR Higher Secondary school, at Ganigram, by climbing the boundary walls of the school on Friday. It was the first day of the HSLC examination and the candidates were appearing for the English paper.
Those arrested include Arif Uddin, Abdul Hamid Barbhuiya, Nazimul Islam Laskar and Sandeep Mohan Nath, residents of different villages in Katigorah circle.
As per the official schedule, the HSLC examination will continue till March 20.
