Ludhiana: Ashok Prashar Pappi, MLA from Ludhiana Central constituency held a meeting with municipal corporation (MC) commissioner Sandeep Rishi and other officials at MC’s zone D office on Monday.
During the meeting, MLA Prashar and Rishi issued directions to officials to expedite various development works in the city, including road works and revamp of green belts/parks.
Besides, they also asked the officials concerned to expedite the project to cover Shivaji Nagar nullah to provide relief to the residents living in its vicinity. They also asked them to clean the nullah here on a regular basis.
Prashar stated that strict directions have been issued to the staff that action should also be taken against the contractors delaying the development works.

The Orissa High Court has instructed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to expedite the repair of a cracked beam in the Natamandap of the Puri Jagannath Temple. Pawar also sought support for the merger of villages with the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation and pledged funds for the construction of an IT Park and the development of Mahalakshmi and Jyotiba temples.

Protesting students meet PAU officials, flag delay in action
Students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) in Ludhiana met with university officials to discuss their demands amid ongoing protests against alleged sexual harassment by a teacher. The students demanded the inclusion of more students in the prevention of sexual harassment (POSH) committee and a resolution of reported cases within 60 days. They also called for the formation of a separate grievance redressal committee, addressed issues with hostels, and sought a 10% increase in scholarships. The students expressed dissatisfaction with the meeting and vowed to continue protesting.
